Start and end your day with My Day

When you open the StrivePD mobile app, you’ll see the My Day screen. Displayed here is your next scheduled medication, your Mood, and your Goals. Scroll through My Day to see everything you recorded today and yesterday.

Besides seeing your activity, you can edit logged items, or add new activity.

Set up your account information and notifications

To set up your Medication schedule, see the Medications section.

Set up your Strive PD Account

Instructions

Tap on Settings > Account information to set up your StrivePD account. 
Enter your name, email, and a password. 
Select your time zone. 

Set up your Notifications

Select if, when, and how often you’d like to receive medication reminders.

Instructions

To receive Medication reminders, click on Notifications and select when and how often you’d like to be reminded. Later, when you tap on a Notification, that dosage will be logged.

To receive Reports by email automatically on a set schedule (weekly or monthly, for example), tap on Notifications & emails, and select when you’d like to receive Reports by email.

Set up your Medication schedule

StrivePD makes it easy to set up your medication schedule, and will send you reminders to help you stay on track. It will also adjust your schedule when you get off track. StrivePD includes a built-in list of the most common Parkinson’s medications and supplements. And if your medication or supplement isn’t on our list yet, you can easily add it for tracking.

Instructions

  • Tap on Settings, and then Medication schedule. Search or select your medication or supplement from the list, then tap on “Add an item.”
  • On the next screen, select a dosage, or add your custom dosage. Or skip dosage.
  • On the next screen, select the number of pills, or skip this option.
  • Next, on the following screen, select how often you take your medication.
  • And finally, select the times of day you’ll be taking it.
  • If you wish to set up reminders, select the timing and frequency of the reminders on the next screen, then click on NEXT. You’ll see a summary of your medications, and an option to (+) add a new medication at the bottom of the screen.

Quick-log your meds

On the My Day screen, tap on “Next Medication” then tap on the blue “Log this” to log your current dose.

Log from Notifications

Tap on your notification, then “Log now.”

Manually log a medication

On the My Day screen, tap “Log an item” or the microphone. To manually log a medication–perhaps you skipped one earlier today or yesterday, search or select a medication. Select time. For a specific time, select “add custom time.” At the top of the next screen, choose Today or Yesterday, and the desired time.

Adjust, edit and delete medications

All medication entries from today and yesterday can be edited or deleted. After two days, entries appear in the Insights section, and can no longer be changed.

Instructions

To edit a Medication or supplement from My Day, tap on the entry. You can delete the entry by tapping on the trash bin, or you can select “Time” to change when you took the medication. You also have the option of changing the dosage or number of pills. Tap on “Update” to save your changes. To adjust a Medication or supplement from your Medication schedule, go to Settings > Medication schedule. Tap on the entry you wish to edit. You can delete the entry by tapping on the trash bin, or you can edit the dosage, pills or times here. You can also select “Auto-log” to bypass manual logging. And, if you stop taking a medication or supplement for a period of time, you can choose to make it inactive by moving the slider to the left to “Inactive.”

Logging

All activity can be logged for today or yesterday. After two days, all entries are displayed in Insights, under “Logged”.

Tap to Log an Activity

To use StrivePD, you simply tap to log information into our mobile app. You can track Medications & Supplements, Symptoms & Side Effects, and Influences such as diet, sleep and activity. The more you log what you’re experiencing every day, the more you’ll learn from your activity patterns.

Symptom or Side Effect

Like medication & supplements, StrivePD includes a built-in list of the most commonly logged symptoms and side effects, and if you’d like to log items not yet on our list you can easily add them. When logging symptoms and side effects, you can choose to include the duration and severity (mild, typical or severe).

Medication or Supplement

We’ve tried to make scheduling your medications simple and easy. First, if you log a medication outside of your regular schedule, you can choose to adjust the rest of that day’s schedule. This is very handy if, for example, you start the day early or late and want to adjust your dosing intervals for the rest of the day. Second, if you’re traveling in a different time zone, StrivePD can help you stay on track by adjusting your schedule to the local time.

Influences

We know that influences have a significant impact on our well-being. 
StrivePD allows you track the following:

  • Food and Beverages that affect your condition
  • Sleep and Naps
  • Activities, such as Exercise, Meditation, Boxing and Walking
  • Triggers, such as Stress 
  • Any other Influence that you’d like to track

Notes

Notes are useful for adding descriptive details when logging an activity, or capturing 
your thoughts and feelings. You’ll also find options to record notes when logging 
Influences, and Mood.

Editing Entries

On the My Day screen, all entries for Today and Yesterday can be edited. 
After two days, entries can no longer be edited, and new items cannot be logged.

DBS Settings

Tap on “Log an item”, then Influences. In the Categories section, tap on Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).

If you have a DBS system, you’ll need to tap the blue “Get Started” box to select your system’s manufacturer, battery type, and lead location(s). Tap on “Save.”

On the DBS screen, select your program, and enter your current Amplitude Setting(s) by selecting a program, and entering your current amplitude setting. If you have a rechargeable battery, log the date and time of your latest charge.

In the Settings>Account Information section, you can choose how often you’d like to receive reminders to recharge your battery.

Mood and Energy

Paying attention to mood is vitally important to staying motivated. StrivePD make it easy to track how you’re feeling, whether occasionally, every day, or every few hours.

Instructions

  • On the My Day screen, tap on the “Mood” box.
  • Select the mood and energy level that represents how you’re feeling. 
  • Take a moment to reflect and add a note here.

Goals

To remind yourself of a simple activity, or to engage in new activities, setting goals can be very helpful.

Instructions

Tap on goals, select a built-in goal, or select “Add a custom goal,” write and save. To delete a goal, swipe to the left, then tap on the pen to edit, or the trash bin to delete.

Insights

StrivePD is designed to help you optimize your care by providing Reports and Insights from the information you log.

To get the most out of StrivePD, it’s important to make StrivePD part of your daily routine and log everything relevant to your care, including Medication & Supplements, Symptoms & Side Effects and Influences (such as Diet, Sleep and Activity).

Instructions

  • At the top of your screen, tap on the Insights tab. After three days of logging, the Insights section displays your Notes, Medication adherence, and changes in symptoms and side effects logged.
  • Tap on “Logged” to view everything you logged over the past 7 days.
  • Just below this selection, you can filter your data by type. Just tap on any of the four selections: Medication or supplement, influence, Side effect or symptom, or OFF period. You can change the date range from 7 days, to 14 or 30 days, or 6 or 12 months.

StrivePD Reports

In addition to viewing reports in the StrivePD Mobile App, you can also receive Reports by email.

Instructions

When you tap on “Share” you can email a PDF version of the report to yourself, a family member, doctor or caregiver.

Start and end your day with My Day

When you open the StrivePD mobile app, you’ll see the My Day screen. Displayed here is your next scheduled medication, your Mood, and your Goals. Scroll through My Day to see everything you recorded today and yesterday.

Set up your account information and notifications

Set up your Strive PD Account

Instructions

Tap on Settings > Account information to set up your StrivePD account. 
Enter your name, email, and a password. 
Select your time zone. 

Set up your Notifications

Select if, when, and how often you’d like to receive medication reminders.

Instructions

To receive Medication reminders, click on Notifications and select when and how often you’d like to be reminded. Later, when you tap on a Notification, that dosage will be logged.

To receive Reports by email automatically on a set schedule (weekly or monthly, for example), tap on Notifications & emails, and select when you’d like to receive Reports by email.

DBS Settings

Tap on “Log an item”, then Influences. In the Categories section, tap on Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).

If you have a DBS system, you’ll need to tap the blue “Get Started” box to select your system’s manufacturer, battery type, and lead location(s). Tap on “Save.”

On the DBS screen, select your program, and enter your current Amplitude Setting(s) by selecting a program, and entering your current amplitude setting. If you have a rechargeable battery, log the date and time of your latest charge.
